Boil Order Notice

September 30, 2026

Due to an 8” Valve break at the Charles Street Well with reduced pressure or no water, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required our water system McLennan County WCID #2 (Elm Mott Water) in Elm Mott (PWS ID #1550002) to notify customers of the need to boil their water prior to consumption.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the water system officials will notify you that the water is safe for consumption. Instructions to discontinue boiling will be issued in the same manner as this notice.

We are currently opening valves around the area  the new valve will be installed shortly .. The overhead Tower on South Charles will be started shortly after 8:00 pm .. We Sincerely apologize for all the inconvenience.

Water is off across town

Please give us another hour to install this valve and we will have the Overhead Tower on South Charles up and running . Our main priority is to get the water to you as fast as we possible can. We do apologize for any inconvenience.

Water will be cut off between 3:00pm and 4:00pm

We will be Installing a New Valve on North Katy and West Main, In order for us to have this installed we have to shut the water off at the Overhead tower on South Charles. This will affect the whole area of McLennan County WCID#2 water customers only. Water will start to shut down at 3:00 pm and will be restored at 4:00 pm.
