The Boil Order remains in effect. It is raining and due to the rain we are unable to pull samples to take to the lab. Therefore we are going around town flushing Valves/Hydrants. If you see water flowing out the valves/hydrants it is us. We will keep you all updated on when the water samples are taken to the lab.
Thank you

Boil Order Notice
September 30, 2026
Due to an 8” Valve break at the Charles Street Well with reduced pressure or no water, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required our water system McLennan County WCID #2 (Elm Mott Water) in Elm Mott (PWS ID #1550002) to notify customers of the need to boil their water prior to consumption.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.
When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the water system officials will notify you that the water is safe for consumption. Instructions to discontinue boiling will be issued in the same manner as this notice.
If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact McLennan County WCID #2 (Elm Mott Water) in Elm Mott at 254-829-1824.
